Iowa’s default speed limit will increase to 60 miles per hour on many roads across the state starting next week, with exceptions. The change applies to roads not specifically assigned a speed limit by state, county, or city code.
Local Exceptions
Nevada Police said the city code regulates all roads within city limits except Highway 30. Police said stretches of County Road S-14, Lincoln Highway, and Airport Road near town will remain at 55 miles per hour. The department said Highway 30 through town and paved roads in unincorporated Story County will change to 60 miles per hour.
