The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 on Tuesday night at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. Rookie Brandon Sproat held the Reds without a hit for five innings and completed six shutout frames.
Jake Bauers and Andrew Vaughn knocked in the Brewers’ two runs. Bauers hit a triple in the sixth inning to score Vaughn with the first run, and Vaughn hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to score Brice Turang.
Sproat got the win by allowing only one hit and striking out a career-high 10 batters. Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe, and Trevor Megill each pitched a scoreless inning of relief, with Megill picking up his 10th save of the season.
