As the people of Geauga County prepare for a fun-filled evening of community engagement and fundraising, a sense of excitement and anticipation fills the air. However, not everyone is pleased with the event, and some have even taken to social media to express their displeasure. According to Jonathan Broadbent, host of Voice of Geauga, the event has been made possible by the tireless efforts of numerous volunteers, who have worked tirelessly to bring it all together.
Community Support
Despite the negative feedback, the event has garnered significant support from the local community, with many businesses and individuals donating generously to the cause. As Jonathan Broadbent notes, ‘The support and love is extraordinary… it’s unbelievable and it is humbling to get the level of support that we are from the business community and others.’ The event promises to be an exciting one, with a star-studded guest list, including Commissioner-Elect Steve Olowich, judges Matt Lynch and David Engler, and Khalid Namar, among others.
Gift Baskets and Raffles
The event will feature a range of exciting gift baskets, donated by local businesses, including Great Lakes Outdoor Supply and Cowboy Creamery. The baskets will be raffled off, with proceeds going to support the cause. As Jonathan Broadbent explains, ‘We’ve got some new additions to the beautiful, glorious gift baskets that have been donated for this cause… They’re going to be managed and raffled by the American Republic Policy Institute.’ The event will also feature a 50-50 raffle, with a starting pot of $200.
Looking to the Future
As the event approaches, the team at Voice of Geauga is looking to the future, with plans to return to the radio and expand their reach. As Skip Claypool notes, ‘We will be changing, as we go back on the radio, our format a bit, I hope, so that it’s a little bit more sophisticated than what we’ve had in the past.’ The team is also working on new content, including a paper on the state of Middlefield and Russell, which promises to be an interesting read.
In the end, the success of the event will depend on the support of the local community. As Jonathan Broadbent says, ‘I want to thank everybody who’s listening to these programs… We’re going to have an article about Middlefield in there, of course, we’re gonna have an article in there about Russell, South Russell and what they’re doing.’ The full episode of Voice of Geauga is available on OBBM Network TV.
