The Bossier Parish Police Jury has approved a cooperative endeavor agreement to assist the town of Plain Dealing with storm debris removal following an EF1 tornado. The 30-day agreement grants parish crews temporary right-of-way access along roads within the town to clear damage left by the recent storm.
Parish officials estimate the cleanup operation will cost less than $10,000. Under the agreement, crews will load debris from city right-of-ways and haul it to a designated disposal site within the town.
The tornado caused damage stretching from the town of Plain Dealing out to the Mott Road area, with the Pleasant Hill area receiving a significant amount of debris. Highway Department crews have already spent a couple of days in the affected areas cutting down fallen trees and carrying away debris.
