Stadium Size Issues
According to UFL co-owner Mike Repole, the stadium’s size affected the game atmosphere, even on opening day when 16,000 fans attended. The team had considered moving to a smaller venue, such as the Hoover Met, but it was not a viable option due to scheduling conflicts with the SEC Baseball Tournament.
The Stallions, who returned to the league in 2022, had a successful season under head coach AJ McCarron, a former star quarterback at Alabama. However, the team missed the playoffs for the first time this year, finishing with a 4-6 record.
