The University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine held its annual white coat ceremony, welcoming 185 new students from the class of 2030 as they begin their medical education. This ceremony marks the first step for medical students as they prepare to start classes at the University of Cincinnati and symbolizes their entry into the medical profession.
According to officials at the University of Cincinnati, about 14% of the class are first-generation college students, and almost two-thirds attended an undergraduate institution in Ohio. A medical student expressed excitement about receiving their white coat and being introduced to the medical society, saying, “It’s very exciting because I wanted to be a physician since I was a little kid, so it’s very nice getting the white coat and being introduced to this incredible society.”
