A Benjamin Franklin exhibit is opening at the Historical Society of Palm Beach County in downtown West Palm Beach on July 6, featuring artifacts and historical items connected to one of America’s founding fathers.
Exhibit Details
Inside the historic courthouse, the exhibit will display Franklin-related items, including portraiture, paintings, busts, medallions, engravings, and books printed by Franklin.
Zachary Jacobson, the collection’s owner, explained that the collection began with his family about 50 years ago and has been managed by him and his brother for the past 15 years. This marks the first time the collection has been displayed publicly under their care.
Erica Grant, director of curatorial affairs at the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, highlighted the significance of the exhibit’s location and its broader historical context. The exhibit will be on display for around two months, and Jacobson hopes visitors leave with a deeper understanding of Franklin’s contributions to the country.
