An Arden resident says county-recommended conditions have not eased concerns over the proposed Project Tango AI data center, as opponents prepare to speak at a Palm Beach County zoning hearing.
Concerns Over Water Usage and Proximity to Homes and School
Arden resident Ben Brown questioned the difference between the proposed limit of 100,000 gallons of water per day and previous statements from Project Tango manager Ernie Cox, who claimed the data center would only need 5,000 gallons of water per day.
Brown also expressed concerns about the proposed site’s proximity to homes and Saddle View Elementary School, citing potential low-frequency noise and emissions.
Parental Concerns and Community Impact
Brown, a parent of two children who attend the school, worries about the potential impact on his children and the community, stating that the proposed data center would be too close to homes and the school.
He also criticized Palm Beach County Commissioner Sara Baxter, saying her proposed moratorium on future data centers would not apply to Project Tango, and accused her of trying to gain favorability in her reelection campaign.
