Wisconsin freshman forward Zach Wooten, who starred in the USHL with the Green Bay Gamblers, was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the fourth round of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. Wooten, a native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, was chosen as the 116th overall pick.
Wooten’s Achievements
Wooten had a remarkable season, tallying 35 goals to rank third in the league during the regular season. He totaled 62 points in 61 games played for Green Bay, ranking eighth in the USHL in points. His four short-handed tallies tied for the league lead.
Wooten’s pick helped extend Wisconsin’s streak to 29 consecutive seasons with at least one player drafted. The Badgers have seen at least one player drafted in all but two drafts since 1970.
