Texarkana, Ark. – A tragic vehicle‑motorcycle collision on Wednesday night claimed the life of a motorcyclist on North State Line Avenue, and Arkansas State Police have now issued warrants for the driver believed to be responsible.

Suspect identified and charges filed

According to a news release from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, the suspect has been identified as Rkeavius Morrison. He is wanted on two counts: fleeing by vehicle resulting in serious physical injury or death, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious physical injury or death.

What happened

Police say an officer attempted to make contact with Morrison after he appeared to be unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle. Instead of stopping, Morrison allegedly accelerated away at a high rate of speed. The reckless driving led to a collision with a motorcycle near Realtor Avenue.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Morrison fled the area and has not been located.
