Arizona men’s basketball wrapped up its overseas exhibition tour with a solid 88-74 win over a Lithuanian team in Alytus on Saturday. After a 99-88 defeat to Lithuania’s B squad three days earlier, the Wildcats led most of the game and finished the trip with a 2-1 record, including a Thursday victory over Ukraine.
Key performances
Senior forward Ivan Kharchenkov led the scoring with 30 points, shooting 11-of-22 and hitting three three‑pointers. He averaged 26.3 points across the three games. Lithuanian forward Motiejus Krivas contributed 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in 22 minutes in front of his home crowd, while teammate Ugnius Jarusevicius added 14 points and eight rebounds.
For Arizona, Derek Dixon supplied 13 points and six assists, and Caleb Holt recorded seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. The Wildcats shot just under 50 percent overall and made eight of 20 three‑point attempts. Defensively, Arizona held Lithuania to 39.7 percent shooting and forced 15 turnovers, converting those into 17 points.
Game flow
Arizona entered halftime with a 43-40 lead, overturning a 17‑point halftime deficit from the earlier meeting. A 10‑1 run to start the second half, highlighted by another Kharchenkov three, pushed the lead to 53-41. The Wildcats extended the margin to 69-55 after three quarters, and a late fourth‑quarter run secured the final 88-74 result.
Former Wildcat forward Azuolas Tubelis, now playing for Lithuania, watched the game from the stands. Former Saint Mary’s guard Augustus Marciulionis led the Lithuanian side with 15 points.
