Expansion of Outdoor Recreation
The new course is part of the expansion of the outdoor recreation center, allowing it to increase its summer use. According to Ariens Co. Chairman & CEO Dan Ariens, the idea for the disc golf course came about a year ago and cost around $100,000 to complete.
The course is set to host the U.S. Women’s National Championship in 2028, which is expected to bring thousands of spectators and competitors from around the globe. The event is seen as a great celebration of women in the sport and an opportunity to bring the community together.
Tourism officials are excited about the new course, saying it will give people another reason to visit Calumet County and discover its wonderful places to live. The course officially opens to the public on Saturday, August 8.
