In April, the real estate market in Sugar Land and Missouri City presented a mixed picture, with some areas experiencing a decline in home sales while others saw an increase in prices. According to recent data, three out of five local ZIP codes witnessed a decrease in home sales compared to the previous year. Notably, ZIP code 77489 experienced the most significant drop, with a 33.33% decrease in sales.

Conversely, ZIP code 77459 recorded the largest percentage increase in home sales at 4.72%. Across the region, a total of 253 homes were sold, with properties priced between $200,000 and $399,999 being the most popular, accounting for 113 of the sales.

Price Changes

The median home sale price decreased in four of the five ZIP codes, with ZIP code 77478 seeing the largest reduction at 14.19%. However, ZIP code 77479 stood out with the highest median home sales price, reaching $543,350.

Time on Market

Another trend observed was the increase in the average number of days homes remained on the market across all five ZIP codes. ZIP code 77478 not only had the largest percentage increase in market time at 231.99% but also the longest average time on the market, with homes taking an average of 166 days to sell.
