The city of Appleton, Wisconsin, is searching for its next Chief of Police. Current Appleton Police Chief, Polly Olson, announced her retirement on May 5, effective January 4, 2027, after 26 years at the Appleton Police Department, with the last four as Chief.

The department says the Chief of Police will lead the department’s vision, strategy, operations, and people, while working closely with city leadership, community partners, and the men and women of the Appleton Police Department to continue building a professional organization focused on service, innovation, accountability, and community trust.
