Allen residents preparing for the November 3 election have a new voting venue. The city announced that the Allen Public Library will host polling in meeting rooms A and B, replacing the Allen Municipal Court, which is undergoing limited parking because of construction on the new Allen Police Headquarters.
Why the change
The municipal court was one of the most heavily used polling sites in Collin County during the May 2026 primary, ranking third in turnout. With parking constraints at the court, city officials decided to relocate voting to a location that could accommodate the high voter volume while offering ample parking on the north and east sides of the library building.
Location and hours
The library’s meeting rooms are situated on the east side of the Allen Public Library, near the Civic Auditorium. Early voting begins on October 19 and runs through October 30. Hours are as follows:
- Oct. 19‑23: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Oct. 24: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Oct. 25: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Oct. 26‑30: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Nov. 3 (Election Day): 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Voters may also use any Collin County polling location during early voting or on Election Day.
Additional voting site
In addition to the library, the Allen ISD Service Center at 1451 N. Watters Road will serve as a second polling location.
Ballot items
Residents will vote on a range of races, including Texas governor, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House seats. Local contests feature the Collin County Judge and County Commissioner for Precinct 4. Voters will also consider a $600 million bond proposal from Collin College and an $817.5 million bond package from Collin County.

Collin County Elections Administrator Kaleb Breaux said, “The polling locations in Allen are some of our most heavy‑turnout polling locations, so we wanted to fill that vacancy, and decided to do so with what the city of Allen offered.”
