Alamo Beer Company, a well-known brewery in San Antonio, is set to reopen on July 4 after undergoing a modernization and renovation project that started in February. The brewery will return under Australian ownership, keeping the well-known brand in place. Guests can return to the Lamar Street taproom on July 4.
Renovations and New Ownership
The new owners, Australian private equity group SKJ Capital, have invested in the brewery, its team, and the guest experience while staying true to what made Alamo Beer Company special in the first place. According to a press release announcing the reopening, guests can expect new beers. Alamo Beer Company was founded by Eugene Simor in 1997 but hit financial difficulties and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy at the beginning of 2025.
When Alamo Beer Company closed in February, its owners said Viva Beer and ShotGun Seltzer, two brands acquired by Alamo Beer Company, will still be available. The July 4 reopening will run from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and feature live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
