After a stormy couple of days, the area is getting a nice break from the rain. Meteorologist Mo Rose has more on the pleasant weather expected through mid-week.
Over the last 24 hours, a lot of rainfall was seen in the area, with over six inches of rain falling in Crawford County and over five inches in parts of Meade County. However, the good news is that the rain is expected to clear out, making way for drier conditions.
The cold front is continuing to sink through the south, picking up just a little bit of mist or drizzle. The cloud cover is expected to start clearing out overnight, and by Tuesday, the weather is expected to be much nicer.
Temperatures will fall into the mid-60s, with some areas possibly seeing upper 50s. There is also a chance of patchy fog, so commuters should be prepared for that on their way to work.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather is expected to be very pleasant, with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures. However, by Thursday, the impact weather returns, with showers and storms expected on a scattered basis.
Friday is expected to be a washout, especially in the afternoon, with heavy downpours and thunder possible. The weather is expected to clear out by Saturday morning, making way for a nice weekend.
