A new initiative, called the Social Economic Redevelopment Initiative (SERI USA), has been launched in the Tampa Bay region to provide affordable housing and support services to those in need. The initiative, founded by real estate developer and property manager Bruzenskey Bois, aims to empower individuals and families by providing them with the tools and resources necessary to achieve economic stability and self-sufficiency.

Key Components of SERI USA

The SERI USA platform has four key components: educating people on small-scale development and placemaking, mental health support, workforce development training, and acquiring and renovating properties to provide affordable housing. The initiative is partnering with local organizations, such as The Urban Charrette and the Foundation for Community Driven Innovation, to provide these services.

Bois, who was inspired by the work of Habitat for Humanity, recognized the need for more affordable housing options in the Tampa Bay area. He believes that by providing affordable housing and support services, individuals and families can achieve economic stability and self-sufficiency. The first property to be acquired and renovated under the SERI USA initiative is located in south St. Petersburg, and Bois hopes to have a family move in within 30 to 45 days.

The cost and location of the property were attractive to Bois, who believes that the city of St. Petersburg is committed to making housing affordable. The city already has initiatives in place to make housing more affordable, and Bois sees the SERI USA initiative as a way to support and expand on these efforts.
