AARP is awarding more than $162,000 in grants to 13 organizations across Iowa to support community improvement projects. In Minden, a covered shelter will be added to Kahler Park, which was damaged by the April 2024 tornado. In Marshalltown, a downtown lot hit by a tornado will be turned into a plaza with seating and art.
