Father’s Day is just around the corner, and several San Antonio hotels are offering special deals to celebrate. The St. Anthony Hotel, in particular, is pulling out all the stops with its ‘Golden Burger Experience’, a $500 burger that comes with a half-pound Japanese A5 ribeye patty, butter-poached king crab legs, shaved black summer truffles, and Osetra caviar, all served on a 24K gold-plated Japanese A5 Wagyu tallow onion bun.
Pearl’s Burger Showdown
Meanwhile, the Pearl is hosting its third annual Burger Showdown, where eight competing restaurants will offer burger samples for a $20 wristband. The event will take place on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature restaurants such as Supper, Otto’s Ice House, and Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery.
The St. Anthony Hotel’s ‘Golden Burger Experience’ is certainly a unique offering, but it’s not the most expensive burger out there. In 2021, a chef in the Netherlands sold a burger for $5,967, which was topped with king crab and caviar, and featured a gold-leaf covered bun made with Dom Pérignon champagne.
