K-9 Leo’s Legacy
Leo was critically injured by a gunshot wound on February 17, 2024, and succumbed to his injuries several days later. The sheriff’s office said on social media that Leo was more than a K-9, he was a trusted partner, a valued member of the agency, and a beloved companion to his handler, Sgt. Justin Tortora.
