The Kiwanis Club of Texarkana recently awarded nearly $40,000 in grants and scholarships to local nonprofit organizations and graduating students. “Supporting our community is at the heart of what Kiwanis does,” said Destiny Carter, president of the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana. “Whether we are helping local nonprofits continue their important work or assisting students as they pursue higher education, we are investing in the future of Texarkana. We are proud to support individuals and organizations that are making a difference every day.”
Grant Recipients
Nonprofit organizations that received grants provide programs and services that make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children and families. Scholarship recipients were selected based on academic achievements, leadership qualities, and community involvement. Some of the organizations that received grants include 1st Choice Pregnancy, A Bridge of Help, American Legion Post 25, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Beds for Kids, Boy Scouts Troop 86, and Caddo Area Council of Scouting America.
