Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain. The injury occurred when Trout was running to first base during the Angels’ 8-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Trout told MLB.com that the injury is not overly concerning and that he will do everything he can to get back on the field as soon as possible. This is not the first time Trout has dealt with injuries, having played more than 82 games in a season only twice since winning his third AL MVP award in 2019.
The Angels have recalled infielder Christian Moore from Triple-A Salt Lake to fill the gap left by Trout’s injury. Moore was hitting .333 with a .468 on-base percentage, nine homers, 45 RBIs, and 10 steals in 51 games at Salt Lake.
