Treasure Valley Community College has opened a new Advanced Energy and Trades Center in Ontario, Ore., to expand its career-technical education offerings in renewable energy jobs.
Facility Details
The facility will have lab and instructional spaces, as well as hands-on learning environments, to prepare students for energy trades. The college purchased the building in January with funds from the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission.
The building will house two new Associate of Science degrees: Advanced Energy Systems and Facilities Maintenance Specialist. Local companies, such as PacifiCorp, have job openings in the energy sector, including hydroelectric power plant operators.
