Louisville Area Events This Weekend

The Louisville/southern Indiana area has several events happening this weekend, just in time for the humidity to die down a bit and for mostly dry days. One of the events is the Dream Big Youth Entrepreneur Walk, which will take place on June 12 at 5 p.m. in downtown New Albany. Various downtown businesses will showcase young entrepreneurs, and each participating business will have a map of all entrepreneurs for guests to guide their shopping.

Other Events

Other events happening this weekend include the Downtown Drive-in at Waterfront Park, the Bicentennial Park Summer Concert Series, and FIFA World Cup watch parties. The Downtown Drive-in will feature the movie “The Sandlot” on June 12, starting at sundown, and will be free to the public. The Bicentennial Park Summer Concert Series will take place on June 12 at 6:30 p.m. in New Albany, featuring the Ian Abel Band and Brooks Ritter Band.

FIFA World Cup watch parties will be held all weekend, with LouCity and Racing season ticket holders able to watch the U.S. men’s World Cup match in the stadium for free. Watch parties will also take place at Fourth Street Live and several local businesses throughout the weekend.

On June 13, the Puppy Palooza will take place at Westport Village, featuring nearly 40 vendors, live music, photo opportunities, and activities. The event will support the Kentucky Humane Society and start at 11 a.m.

The Cuba Mia Fest will also take place on June 13, celebrating Latin American culture in Louisville. The festival will feature live music, over 20 vendors, and traditional dishes from Latin American countries.

The Kentucky Science Center will host a day of water-themed hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and experiments for all ages on June 13. The Paristown Plant Swap & Shop will take place on June 13, where community members can bring potted plants, plant cuttings, and seeds to swap with other plant lovers.

The Big Four Bridge Bourbon Festival will take place on June 13, featuring live music, bourbon sampling, vendors, and food trucks. The event will also feature a cocktail showdown, where 10 local restaurants will compete for the title of best bourbon drink.

The Germantown Backyard Block Party will take place on June 14, featuring local artist vendors, live music, and a special Hinterhof menu.
