The Greater Shreveport Chamber hosted its annual Minority Business Opportunity Awards Dinner at Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino in Shreveport, honoring local trailblazers who have made a significant impact on the region’s economic and cultural environment.
Awards and Honorees
The awards recognized the achievements of several individuals and businesses, including Tia White, JP Morgan Chase, who was named Top Business Professional of the Year for her work in financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Badreka Harper, The Arc Caddo-Bossier, was named Non-Profit Professional of the Year for her efforts in expanding opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Apotheworx Pharmacy, owned by Dr. Heidi Cram, was named Emerging Business of the Year for its patient-centered approach to healthcare. Antonisha Parish, I’d Wax That Studios, was named Small Business Owner of the Year for her successful esthetics business. Whataburger was named Business of the Year for its corporate citizenship and philanthropic efforts in the region.
Wayne E. Smith, Shreveport police chief, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his 40-year legacy with the Shreveport Police Department and his efforts to bridge relationships between law enforcement and the community.
