According to Downdetector.com, which tracks outages by collating status reports from various sources, there were over 62,000 reports of issues with Facebook and over 8,000 reports of issues with Instagram as of 10:11 a.m. ET.

The actual number of affected users may vary, as the numbers on Downdetector are based on user-submitted reports. Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the cause of the outage.
