Conroe ISD adopts Savvas Envision math program and expands Bluebonnet ELAR curriculum

At its September 16 meeting, the Conroe Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees gave the green light to a suite of new instructional resources slated for the 2026‑27 school year. Deputy Superintendent Ted Landry presented the rollout plan, emphasizing that both physical and digital copies of the Savvas Envision math curriculum have already been distributed to schools district‑wide.

Savvas Envision math for grades K‑12

Savvas Envision + Math will replace the previous math materials for all grade levels. Landry explained that campus leads, administrators and department chairs are undergoing specialized training to ensure a smooth transition. The district expects teachers to begin using the new content in classrooms this fall, with ongoing support from the curriculum team.

Bluebonnet Learning ELAR enters second year

The Texas Education Agency’s Bluebonnet Learning English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) program continues into its second year in CISD. Designed to meet 100 % of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) reading standards, the free internal curriculum provides a consistent framework for K‑5 instruction. Landry noted that teachers are currently in the implementation and refinement phase, gathering feedback to fine‑tune the program.

Grant‑funded innovations support teachers

CISD has secured two separate grants to introduce cutting‑edge instructional tools. The first, Coursemojo, is an AI‑powered teaching assistant that offers students immediate feedback and helps correct misconceptions. Coursemojo is being piloted at ten campuses, with onboarding already underway.

The second grant, part of the Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities (LASO) initiative, funds the Untapped Genius coaching program. Coaches will work with administrators and teachers to strengthen classroom instruction and build leadership capacity, particularly as the district expands the Bluebonnet Learning ELAR program for grades K‑5.

Looking ahead

Landry said district officials will closely monitor data and teacher feedback as the new materials take hold. Adjustments will be made as needed to ensure students receive high‑quality instruction that aligns with state standards. The board’s approval marks a significant step toward modernizing CISD’s curriculum and leveraging technology to support student achievement.

Community members are encouraged to stay informed through upcoming board meetings and district communications, where further updates on implementation progress will be shared.
