The Milwaukee Brewers took the series finale from the Arizona team with a 3-2 victory on the road. Jake Bauers smacked a two-run home run, putting the Brewers up to stay in Sunday’s game.
Leading 2-1 after Bauers’ home run, Joey Ortiz drove in the winning run with a single that scored Gary Sanchez. Lefty Drew Rom got the victory in relief by striking out the only batter he faced.
Brandon Sproat started for the Brewers and made it through 4 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and 3 walks. He was followed by Garrett Anderson, Rom, Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe, and Trevor Megill.
Milwaukee took the series two games to one. Shane Drohan is set to start Monday night in the first game of a five-game series in St. Louis.
