The Laramie Peak Endurance Challenge invites runners to test their endurance on one of Wyoming’s most iconic mountains Saturday, July 11, 2026. The challenge will begin and end at Friend Park Campground.
Challenge Options
There are three options: 24-hour Mountain Endurance Challenge, 12-hour Challenge, and Single Summit Challenge. The 24-hour challenge involves completing as many full summit laps as possible before time expires Sunday morning. The 12-hour challenge is the same concept, but for only half the time. The Single Summit Challenge involves one trip up and one trip down the mountain.
The basecamp at Friend Park will provide food, water, and medical coverage. Participants are encouraged to bring necessary supplies and equipment, including a running vest or pack, high-calorie food, and a reliable headlamp.
Trail Information
The Laramie Peak Trail is approximately 10 miles out and back, with a 2,500-foot elevation gain. The trail is rated as difficult and offers panoramic views of several states, mountain ranges, and cities.
