Louisville Metro Police officers patrolling the Ohio River came across an unexpected rescue over the weekend. The River Unit was patrolling an area near Harrods Creek when they found a deer in distress. The deer appeared to be stuck in thick mud along the riverbank.
Officers say the mud was knee-deep where the deer was stuck. The officers were able to carefully free the deer from the mud. Police say the deer walked away after being freed.
