Gulfstream Goodwill’s Stock the Pantry campaign is underway to help feed the homeless community at their shelters. The organization provides homeless services across the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast, overseeing four homeless shelters, including a family shelter in Pahokee and a shelter in Lake Worth.
Helping the Homeless
With nearly 300 shelter guests a day to feed, Gulfstream Goodwill relies on its pantries to supplement food when the shelters are empty. However, the pantries are currently running critically low. The Stock the Pantry campaign allows people to donate food or make a monetary donation to help feed the homeless community.
According to Devorah Kermisch, Director of Community Relations with Gulfstream Goodwill Industries, summer can create a food gap for people in the community, with nearly 51,000 children currently food insecure. The organization is seeking donations to help stock its pantries and provide hot meals for those in need.
People can donate by visiting the Gulfstream Goodwill website or through Amazon links. The organization is also accepting food donations and monetary donations to help support its efforts. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference in helping to feed the homeless community.
