Victor Willis, the lead singer of the Village People, has died at the age of 74. The Texas-born singer co-wrote the group’s hit song ‘YMCA’ and was known for dressing as a cop during the group’s performances.
According to the Village People’s Facebook page, Willis died from a ‘short but aggressive illness’ on Tuesday. He left the band in 1979 to pursue a solo career.
