A trash truck rollover at the base of the Sagamore Bridge is causing heavy traffic backups onto Cape Cod on Wednesday morning. Bourne police said in a Facebook post that they and Bourne fire were assisting Massachusetts State Police with a trash truck rollover on the Mid-Cape Highway eastbound, just prior to Exit 55.
Motorists are being advised to seek alternate routes. Photos from the scene showed a Nauset Disposal truck on its side on the Cape side of the bridge, with several state police cruisers on the scene blocking the roadway.
