The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile made a stop in Albuquerque this week as part of its 90th birthday and America’s 250th anniversary celebrations. On Wednesday, the Wienermobile held a community event at the Smith’s on Fourth Street, where visitors had the chance to meet the Hotdoggers, take photos and receive the coveted Wiener Whistles.

Lauren Trippeer with Oscar Mayer said, ‘It’s frank-tastic, honestly. It’s, it’s so much fun. Everyone in Albuquerque has been so nice. We hear all sorts of stories about people who saw the Wienermobile as a little girl or a little boy and, you know, how long they’ve been waiting to see it.’ The Wienermobile began its trip in Oklahoma City and made its way to Albuquerque before continuing westward to Los Angeles, where it will spend the Fourth of July.
For those who missed the event, there’s still one more chance to see the Wienermobile in Albuquerque. It will be at the Smith’s on Tramway from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Fun facts about the Wienermobile include its unique dimensions: it is 60 hot dogs long, 24 hot dogs high and 18 hot dogs wide.
