This July, the city of Allen is hosting several events for residents to enjoy. The Allen Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at the Village Green at Watters Creek Village on July 4 from 8-10 p.m. Admission is free.

The Allen Public Library’s monthly book club will meet at The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar on July 6 from 7-8:30 p.m. to discuss ‘On The Road’ by Jack Kerouac. SBG Hospitality is hosting a summer field day at The Farm on July 11 from 9 a.m.-noon, featuring a watermelon eating contest, water balloon toss, live music, and local vendors.
The Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Convention Center will host a card show from July 16-19, featuring sports cards, nonsports cards, gaming cards, autographs, comics, toys, collectibles, and memorabilia. Celebrate National Ice Cream Day by sampling frozen treats at the Allen Public Library on July 17 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Listen to live music at Watters Creek Village on July 25 from 8-10 p.m., featuring the Southern Couch Band playing classics from the ’60s through the ’90s. The Allen Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a family game night at Ford Pool on July 24 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
