Pickle Yard will host the inaugural Pickleball Palooza tournament to raise support for Ronald McDonald House on July 10. Admission to the event at 15 Jenkins Court in Mauldin is free.
It will feature indoor pickleball, line dancing, golf simulators, yard games, volleyball and more. Participants in the pickleball tournament will be charged $75 per team. The entry fee includes two event shirts and three guaranteed games. The winners will receive prizes.
The goal of Pickleball Palooza is to raise $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House on Grove Road in Greenville. The Ronald McDonald House is a nonprofit that provides free housing and meals for parents with critically ill children.
Jim Canavos, co-founder of Pickle Yard, said the community should come prepared to have fun. “We’re gonna create an environment where somebody who’s never played pickleball will feel comfortable to go out there and do their thing,” he said.
