San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is on track to coach the team’s preseason debut against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday. Shanahan has been recovering from a concussion and other injuries suffered in a July 14 car crash in Palo Alto, California.
Recovery Progress
Shanahan, who was driving a Tesla on autopilot at the time of the accident, said he was at fault. The driver of the other car was not injured. Shanahan has been wearing a cast on his broken left hand and has also suffered broken ribs and a large cut on his face that required multiple stitches.
Despite his injuries, Shanahan spoke to the team on August 1 and said he feels like he’s making progress in his recovery. “I can’t tell you guys how close it is. I’m getting there. And I will be there,” Shanahan said about the game against the Titans.
