A 4.2 magnitude earthquake shook parts of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado early Monday morning. According to the U.S. Geologic Survey, the 4.2 magnitude quake was centered west of Raton and north of Cimarron just south of the Colorado & New Mexico state line.
The USGS says the earthquake was felt in Raton and Trinidad, Colorado. There are no reports of damage as a result of this earthquake.
