The Deschutes Children’s Foundation provides critical services to nearly 21,000 children and family members in Deschutes County each year. One in ten residents in the county access services through the foundation’s four locations in Bend, Redmond, and La Pine.
Supporting Local Families
The foundation works with 23 nonprofit partners to offer a range of services, including health care, early childhood education, and family support. These services are vital for children and families navigating various challenges.
Cassi MacQueen, executive director of Deschutes Children’s Foundation, noted the significant impact the foundation has on the community. Community support is essential for the foundation to continue its work, and one opportunity to help is the upcoming pickleball fundraiser, ‘The Big Dill’, scheduled for September 10, 2026.
Stephanie Powell, Development Manager for Deschutes Children’s Foundation, highlighted the event’s purpose, stating that ‘behind every number is a child or family seeking support and a brighter future.’ The fundraiser is open to players of all skill levels and includes a day of connection, raffle prizes, and a silent auction.
