2026 World Cup Begins

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is underway, with the first matches taking place today. The tournament features 48 nations, divided into 12 groups. The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-place teams, will advance to the knockout stage.

Group Stage Schedule

The group stage will feature a total of 144 matches, with each team playing three matches. The schedule for each group is as follows:

  • Group B: Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, Switzerland
  • Group C: Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, Scotland

  • Group G: Belgium, Egypt, Iran, New Zealand
  • Group H: Spain, Cabo Verde, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay
  • Group I: France, Senegal, Iraq, Norway
  • Group J: Argentina, Algeria, Austria, Jordan
  • Group K: Portugal, DR Congo, Uzbekistan, Colombia
  • Group L: England, Croatia, Ghana, Panama

The knockout stage will begin with a round of 32, featuring the top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-place teams.

Tiebreakers

In the event of a tie, the following tiebreakers will be used: the greatest number of points in the group matches between the tied teams, the superior goal difference from the group matches between the tied teams, and the greatest number of goals scored in all group matches between the tied teams.
