Cincinnati Animal CARE has removed over 150 animals from a home in Westwood, marking the largest single animal seizure in the organization’s history. Deputy dog wardens responded to the home after receiving concerns about animals living on the property.
Conditions and Investigation
Upon arrival, wardens found dozens of animals living in conditions that raised immediate concerns for their health and welfare, as well as that of people living in the home and on the property. The animals, including dogs, cats, rats, rabbits, reptiles, chickens, a goose, and a turkey, were found in significant clutter and debris throughout the small home, with fecal matter in multiple rooms and numerous stacked cages.
Each animal is undergoing medical evaluations, and wardens are investigating whether deceased animals may be present on the property. The investigation remains ongoing.
