A 12-year-old boy from Philadelphia who has been battling a blood disorder used his Make-A-Wish experience to host a ‘family day’ at a West Philadelphia homeless shelter, choosing to give back rather than receive something for himself.
A Surprise Visit from the Eagles
Eagles players Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley stopped by after camp to spend time with Sam Okyere, the 12-year-old boy. ‘I heard you were trying to do a good deed and you wanted to help and serve others. To see you doing it at such a young age is mighty impressive. Keep it up,’ Hurts said.
Sam and Hurts bonded over video games, including NBA2K and Mario Super Smash Bros., while Sam encouraged Barkley to get back into LEGO building.
