The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will host a free workshop on living and recreating near bears and mountain lions on Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Casper.
Workshop Details
The “Living in Large Carnivore Country” event begins at 6 p.m. at the Casper Regional Office, 3030 Energy Lane. The session is open to anyone who lives, works or spends time outdoors in predator habitats.
Dan Thompson, large carnivore section supervisor for Game and Fish, will lead the presentation alongside local wildlife officials. Presenters will review bear and mountain lion behavior, techniques to secure attractants like food and garbage, encounter protocols and the proper use of bear spray.
Department officials said the goal is to give the public practical tools to reduce potential conflicts as more people use Wyoming’s outdoor spaces. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation.
