On Tuesday, July 28th, at approximately 7:55 a.m., Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area of Northeast 179th Street and Interstate 5 after receiving multiple reports of a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5.
The driver, 35-year-old Marvin Badilla, called 911 and reported that he was being chased. However, Interstate 5 traffic cameras captured Badilla’s vehicle, a silver Toyota Prius, and did not show any vehicles actively pursuing or following him.
Badilla continued driving recklessly until arriving at the Safeway near Northeast Highway 99 and Northeast 129th Street. The investigation indicates Badilla’s vehicle struck two parked vehicles in the store’s parking lot.
Deputies contacted Badilla inside the store and took him into custody without incident. Badilla was medically evaluated by AMR personnel before being booked into the Clark County Jail on probable cause for reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and two counts of hit and run.
