A 19-year-old woman is recovering after someone body-slammed her at a bar near the University of Central Florida, leaving her in the intensive care unit for several days with a cracked skull and a brain bleed.

Investigation Underway

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a fight broke out at the Knight Library bar around 9:30 p.m. Friday, resulting in one person being taken to the hospital. No arrests have been made, but detectives are actively investigating.

Attorney Mark NeJame, whose office is representing the victim, Olivia Nogueras, said, “What happened to this poor young woman is just horrific.” NeJame’s office is conducting its own investigation into what happened.

In a video posted to TikTok from her hospital bed, Nogueras described the moments after the fight broke out near her. “The crowd pushed me inward towards them,” she said. “They grabbed my friend’s hair. One guy swung … they punched me in the face. … I pulled him in closer with his shirt and punched him … and then after that, somebody picked me up and slammed me on the side of my head.”

Nogueras suffered a cracked skull and a brain bleed from the impact of her head hitting the ground. She had recently recovered from a separate brain injury after she was hit in the head with a softball in October 2025.

On Monday afternoon, the bar posted a statement on social media, writing that it had submitted video footage to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and that it strives “to promote a fun, clean atmosphere for college students to have fun, not fight.”

NeJame said his team plans to investigate whether overcrowding or negligent security possibly played a role in what happened.
