The New York Liberty’s game against the Dallas Wings, scheduled for Thursday, was postponed due to travel delays caused by mechanical issues with the team’s charter flight. The game has been rescheduled for Monday, July 20, at 8 p.m. ET.
Travel Delays
The Liberty were unable to arrive in Texas on time due to the mechanical issues with their charter flight. The team’s player, Pauline Astier, expressed her frustration on Instagram, stating that they were still on the tarmac 10 hours after their scheduled departure.
The Liberty eventually switched planes and deplaned around 12:30 a.m. ET. The team canceled their shootaround on Thursday due to the travel delays.
Rescheduled Games
The Liberty will now play three games in a span of five days in three different cities. They will play the Indiana Fever on Saturday, the Wings on Monday, and the Chicago Sky on Wednesday.
The Wings, who are currently 16-8 on the season, will play the Los Angeles Sparks at home on Sunday before hosting the Liberty on Monday. They will then travel to play the Portland Fire on Wednesday.
