The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers fell to the Beloit Sky Carp 8-5 on Saturday night at ABC Supply Stadium. Despite the loss, Braylon Payne made history by hitting his 23rd home run of the season, setting the team’s single-season home run record.

The Sky Carp scored twice with two outs in the bottom of the first inning. Dillon Head doubled to start the inning and was still at second with two outs when Cody Schrier doubled to left to knock in Head. Jesús Hernandez followed with an RBI single.
Chase Jaworsky added to the Sky Carp lead with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the second. The Rattlers got on the board in the sixth inning, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.
Payne’s historic home run came in the top of the ninth inning, lining the ball over the wall in left-center to set the franchise record. He had entered the game in a four-way tie with Khris Davis, Victor Roache, and Clint Coulter.
