Wisconsin Public Service is seeking nominations for the company’s latest ‘ambassadog.’ The campaign asks Wisconsin residents to submit photos of their dog digging up dirt. The winning dog not only gets the title of ‘ambassadog,’ it also becomes the face of WPS’s call 811 campaign.
Call 811 Before Digging
811 must be called at least 3 days before anyone plans to dig, per Wisconsin state law. Making the call gives your utility time to come to your home and mark where buried utilities are, preventing power outages and gas leaks.
Last year, WPS selected Pearl from Schofield as the 2025 ‘ambassadog.’ In its inaugural year, Arlo from Tomahawk was the first ‘ambassadog.’ WPS began the program in the Summer of 2024. A Northeast Wisconsin dog has yet to be selected as the ‘ambassadog.’ However, in 2025 dogs from De Pere, Oshkosh, Luxemburg, Suamico, and Hobart were all nominees.
