A Winnebago County judge has been referred for discipline by the Wisconsin Judicial Commission. The commission found grounds for the state Supreme Court to take action against Judge Scott Woldt. The incidents in question include Woldt calling himself a ‘sanitational engineer’ and ‘dealing with society’s garbage’ during an interview, as well as berating witnesses and defendants in his courtroom.
Woldt’s attorney denies the allegations, stating that the judge has ‘fully and properly performed his duties’ and has done nothing wrong in his statements as a private citizen. Woldt was previously suspended for seven days by the state Supreme Court in 2021 following another complaint about his conduct.
